KB BANK SYARIAH PARTNERS WITH BTM PARENTS TO STRENGTHEN THE NATIONAL SHARIA FINANCIAL ECOSYSTEM

04 February 2026

Jakarta, February 4, 2026 - PT Bank KB Bukopin Syariah (KB Bank Syariah) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the parent Baitut Tamwil Muhammadiyah (BTM) as a strategic step to strengthen the national Islamic financial ecosystem, particularly for the micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) segment and the Muhammadiyah community.
This collaboration includes strengthening banking technology infrastructure, developing risk management in accordance with Sharia principles, and accelerating digital banking services to improve ease of access and service quality for customers and members of the BTM cooperative. This digital transformation is balanced with strengthening physical services to reach a wider community.
Head of the Business Division, Teguh Suryadi, stated that this collaboration is part of the company's commitment to expanding community-based Islamic financial inclusion.
"The synergy with the parent BTM is a strategic step to strengthen Muhammadiyah microfinance through technological support, risk management governance, and inclusive and sustainable Islamic banking services," said Teguh.
According to him, information technology infrastructure support is a crucial foundation for driving economic growth for the community in various regions. With a national network of KB Bank Syariah and BTM, this collaboration is aimed at building a broader economy of scale through the spirit of "one PDM, one BTM."
The Chairman of BTM, Drs. H. Achmad Su'ud, MS, stated that the strategic collaboration with KB Bank Syariah is a continuation of the synergy established in 2021, which has now been strengthened to address the need for digitalization and risk mitigation at BTM through the utilization of banking IT technology nationwide. With approximately 300 service networks throughout Indonesia, strengthening this partnership is considered crucial to ensuring healthy and prudent BTM management and maintaining BTM's reputation as a financial center and Muhammadiyah's da'wah bil hal movement.
"Therefore, we hope that this strategic collaboration between the two parties can be implemented across the national BTM network through various mutually beneficial and profitable outreach programs," said Su'ud.
Going forward, KB Bank Syariah is also open to collaboration opportunities with the PP Muhammadiyah MSME Development Institute and its fostered MSMEs to expand access to productive, safe, and sustainable sharia financing.
