KB SYARIAH BANK AND THE AT-TANWIR MOSQUE OF PP MUHAMMADIYAH PROMOTE MOSQUE FINANCIAL LITERACY THROUGH SIROQIB
Jakarta, September 15, 2026 – PT Bank KB Bukopin Syariah (KB Bank Syariah) is collaborating with the At-Tanwir Mosque of the Muhammadiyah Central Board (PP Muhammadiyah) to enhance financial literacy among mosques through financial reporting initiatives utilizing the SIROQIB system within the Muhammadiyah network. This activity is part of a joint effort to promote the management of community funds in a manner that is orderly, transparent, accountable, and compliant with Sharia principles.
The collaboration was marked by the symbolic handover of donation boxes and QRIS facilities to the At-Tanwir Mosque. The use of QRIS is expected to make it easier for congregants to contribute *infaq* (voluntary donations) and *sadaqah* (alms), while also supporting more orderly and well-documented recording of fund receipts.
The event was attended by KB Bank Syariah’s Director of Compliance and Risk Management, Ahmad Aidil Ritonga, demonstrating the bank's support for strengthening financial literacy and the digitalization of mosque financial management within the Muhammadiyah community.
On this occasion, KB Bank Syariah’s Business Director, Santi Aji Yuniasih, highlighted the importance of record-keeping in mosque financial management.
"Financial record-keeping is not merely an administrative task; it is part of the trust involved in managing community funds. The Quran, specifically Surah Al-Baqarah verse 282, emphasizes the importance of recording transactions. This principle is highly relevant to mosque financial management, ensuring that every receipt and expenditure is properly recorded and accounted for," said Santi.
Santi further explained that effective mosque financial management relies on three main pillars: record-keeping, control, and reporting/transparency. In practice, however, challenges remain, such as inconsistent record-keeping, disorganized transaction documentation, and a lack of systematic reporting. Implementation must also be tailored to the classification and characteristics of each mosque—considering factors such as scale, congregation size, activities, and revenue sources.
"Each mosque has unique characteristics and management scales. Therefore, financial management needs to be adapted to the capacity and activities of each mosque, while upholding the principles of proper record-keeping, control, and transparency," added Santi.
Through this initiative, KB Bank Syariah encourages the use of SIROQIB as a tool to assist mosque administrators in managing financial reports in a more systematic, simple, and transparent manner. This collaboration also demonstrates KB Bank Syariah’s commitment to strengthening the community-based Sharia financial ecosystem and fostering the digitalization of community fund management.
Moving forward, it is hoped that financial reporting literacy and the digitalization of community fund management can be expanded to other mosques within the Muhammadiyah network, thereby making the management of community funds increasingly professional and delivering broader benefits to the congregation and the wider community.
